The content on this Site — including practice area descriptions, articles, blog posts, checklists, and any downloadable materials — is provided for general informational purposes only. It is not legal, tax, accounting, or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional regarding your specific circumstances.

Cross-border tax and estate planning outcomes turn on details: your citizenship and residency, the residency and citizenship of your spouse and beneficiaries, the location and character of your assets, applicable treaties, the timing of transfers, and facts that a general article cannot account for. 3. No Attorney-Client Relationship

Using this Site does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Williams Legal ATL, LLC or Donyae Williams.

No attorney-client relationship is formed by:

  • Submitting a contact form or scheduling a consultation
  • Sending us an email, text message, or voicemail
  • Speaking with us in an initial consultation

An attorney-client relationship is created only when Williams Legal ATL, LLC and the client have executed a written engagement agreement signed by both parties, and any required retainer has been received.

Until that happens, we owe you no duty of representation, and we are not responsible for advising you of deadlines. Filing deadlines for FBARs, Forms 3520 and 3520-A, Form 8938, estate tax returns, and treaty elections are strict, and missing them can carry substantial penalties. We do not monitor or protect any deadline for you unless and until we are formally engaged.

4. Do Not Send Confidential Information

Please do not send confidential, sensitive, or privileged information to us through this Site, by email, or by voicemail until we have signed an engagement agreement with you.

Information you send before an engagement is established:

  • May not be treated as confidential or protected by the attorney-client privilege
  • May be reviewed by us for conflicts-checking purposes
  • May not prevent us from representing another party whose interests are adverse to yours in the same or a related matter

If you need to convey sensitive details in order for us to evaluate a potential engagement, contact us first and we will arrange a secure and appropriate method.

5. Scope of Practice and Jurisdiction

Donyae Williams is admitted to practice law in the State of Georgia.

Federal tax matters — including FBAR/FinCEN Form 114, FATCA/Form 8938, Forms 3520 and 3520-A, and representation before the Internal Revenue Service — are governed by federal law and Treasury Department Circular 230, and are not limited by state boundaries. State-specific matters, including the drafting and administration of wills, trusts, and other estate planning instruments, are governed by the law of the relevant state, and we do not offer advice on the law of any state in which we are not admitted or otherwise authorized to practice.

We do not practice foreign law. Where a matter involves the law of another country, we work with qualified local counsel or advisors in that jurisdiction.

Nothing on this Site is an offer to represent you, and nothing here is intended to solicit clients in any jurisdiction where doing so would be prohibited by that jurisdiction’s rules.

6. No Guarantee of Results

Any description of prior matters, results, or outcomes is not a guarantee, warranty, or prediction of the result in your matter. Every matter is different, and prior results do not guarantee or suggest a similar outcome.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Fulton County or DeKalb County, Georgia, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
